Kullerstrand Elementary School would like to welcome you to our brand new website!

Principal's Message

Good evening Kullerstrand Families,

This a very important announcement, please read it entirely.  School is canceled tomorrow, Wednesday, February 13th for Kullerstrand only due to main sewer line issues.
The Jeffco Facilities team will be here early to begin working on the problem.  I assure you that the district team will do their due diligence in making sure that the school is cleaned and sanitized before students return on Thursday.

SAE before and after school care will not be available. In addition, we are also canceling conferences tomorrow evening.   Again, there will be no one in the building while the district team is working to fix this issue.  We are sorry for the inconvenience.

School will be in session on Thursday, February 14th.  If further work is needing to be done, we will communicate with you tomorrow as soon as we know.

Have a good evening,

Mrs. Clay

Dear Kullerstrand Families,

Happy New Year! We hope that you had a wonderful break with your kids. I always looking forward to our spring semester because it is during this time that we see the all around growth that students are achieving. Growth comes in many forms such as their reading and math skills and as well as their social and personal growth.  I look forward to continuing to watch this learning and growth with our staff and students.

“To make a difference, be the difference.” Julian Hall

Be The Difference
Be Kind
Be Creative
Be Brave
Be A Leader
Be Inspiring
Be A Risk Taker
Be Unstoppable
Be Yourself

These words are the foundation of our theme this year.  These words will empower, strengthen, encourage, and inspire not only our students, but our teachers and staff as well.

As we continue through the school year, we are energized and deeply committed to making a positive difference in the lives of all of our students.  Our teachers and staff dedicate themselves to providing our students with a safe, positive learning environment that supports their growth academically and socially.   We know that the most important ingredient for students’ learning is their classroom teacher.  At Kullerstrand, we have an amazingly talented and dedicated staff that work together to provide students with what is needed to support and challenge their learning during the school day.

At Kullerstrand, we value partnerships with our parent community to meet the academic and social/emotional needs of all students.  We welcome and appreciate our parent and community volunteers, and encourage you to participate on Kullerstrand’s Accountability Committee and PTA.

Thank you for your commitment to Kullerstrand.   If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me at or by phone 303-982-1780.

Second Step Focus of the Week:

Problem Solving Steps

Say the problem. Think of solutions. Explore Consequences. Pick the best solution.

What is Second Step?

Mental Heath Tip:

Help children reconnect with a time when they learned something new that was a stretch or a challenge. Point out the developmental nature of "getting good" - we all go through the process of making a lot of mistakes, practicing, and then getting better.
