November, 2019
Dear Kullerstrand Families,
Can you believe that it’s already November? The seasons are changing, the trees have lost their leaves and the snow is already upon us. As proud RAMS, we have focused on being Creative Thinkers, Explorers, Dreamers, and Mathematicians. As we move forward, we will strive to be the very best Writers, Artists, Scientists, Musicians, Readers, Athletes, and Friends, keeping “We Are Kullerstrand” the foundation of our theme.
As a community, we have participated in the Farmer’s 5000, taking 1st place for the third year in a row for student participation, enjoyed celebrating Grandparent’s Day with our students and their families, and our 4th and 5th grade students represented Kullerstrand at the WR Area track meet with great pride. Additionally, our students have also been fortunate to participate in various field trips that have deepened their learning and experience. From the Botanical Gardens to the Denver Museum of Nature and Science, to a nature walk and a climbing club, students are connecting their learning to life experience. We continue to be deeply committed to our unified community that strongly emphasizes student experience and growth.
Our staff continues to dedicate themselves to providing our students with a safe, positive learning environment that supports their growth academically and socially. Students are engaged in deep learning that parallels the Jeffco Generations vision of ensuring content mastery, civic and global engagement, self-directed and personal responsibility, communication, critical and creative thinkers, collaboration, agility and adaptability. We are also looking forward to celebrating our Veterans with a musical performance from our 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students, a full evening of Family Learning, and our K-5 Holiday Program, just to mention a few.
Our energetic and ambitious PTA has established 3 goals for the school year – increasing membership, raising funds for a new playground and increasing community involvement. We welcome and encourage families to attend and participate in these various and exciting involvement opportunities.
Thank you for your commitment to Kullerstrand. I look forward to seeing all of you in the coming weeks. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me at cheryl.clay@jeffco.k12.co.us or by phone 303-982-1780.
Stay warm everyone!
Sincerely,
